Samsung Shaking Up Component Supply Chain for Blue Black II Phone
August 12, 2005
Samsung is aggressively restructuring the component supply for its Blue Black II (SGH-D600) mobile phone. Camera modules, which were supplied by Samsung Electronics for Blue Black I, will be supplied by Samsung Techwin for Blue Black II, while resolution of the modules will be upgraded from 1.3MP to 2MP. Corelogic will supply MAPs (Multimedia Application Processor), which are able to support the 2MP camera module, MPEG-4 and television function. Mtekvision will be responsible for CSP (Camera Signal Processor) supply, while Intops will continue to provide the phone cases as it did for the Blue Black I phone.
